Vision & Values

Our Vision

To glorify God by planting churches in Singapore and Southeast Asia which will be committed to the expository preaching of His word so that many will come to know Him, live for Him and enjoy Him forever.

Our Values

Word-based Community

It is our firm conviction that God speaks to us through His living and abiding word, the Bible. It is as the Holy Spirit illuminates God’s word to us that we are convicted of our sin and our need to turn to Christ to be born again (1 Pet 1:23; John 16:8-11). We also believe that our knowledge of God as revealed in the Bible is sufficient for all things pertaining to life and godliness (2 Pet 1:3). Furthermore, all Scripture is breathed out by God and is useful for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness so that we can be thoroughly equipped for the service of God (2 Tim 3:16). As such, everything from the pulpit to community groups to kid’s ministry is explicitly and unashamedly based on the word of God. We have no message, no voice, and no hope if we don’t proclaim the message of the Bible in which God’s voice is heard and real hope is found.

Spiritual Community

God’s great goal in history is to gather to Himself a people for Himself (Gen 12:1-3). God’s desire is that we will worship Him by offering all of ourselves, all of the time (Rom 12:1-2). But God has also bound us together as His body so that we may exercise the gifts that He has given us to serve and encourage one another (1 Cor 12:4-31). As the people of God, we are God’s new family, called to contend together for the truth of the gospel and to stir up godliness in one another as the Day draws near (1 Tim 3:15; Heb 10:19-25). We therefore seek to be an authentic Christian community which exists to both worship God with all of our lives and edify one another in all of our interactions as we see the Day approaching. Church is not functional, it is relational; it is not observed, it is lived; it is not social, it is family. We see ourselves as an inter-dependant, inter-connected spiritual family brought together by the blood of Christ.

Training Community

God’s all-sufficient word is given to us to make us wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and to fully equip the church for every good work (2 Tim 3:15-17). Not surprisingly then, the ascended Christ gives to his church key leaders – apostles, the prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers – so that they might teach the word of God to equip the saints for the work of ministry. This in turn edifies the body of Christ and allows it to stand firm in the face of falsehood (Eph 4:11-16). It is therefore imperative that every saint be equipped by the word of God for service. Men, women and children will be taught to understand and live out their God-given roles; Fathers, mothers and singles will be encouraged to pursue godliness in the gift that God has given them; Those able to teach will be discipled, and some trained for full-time gospel ministry.

Missional Community

The missionary nature of the church is implied by the very nature of the gospel which is a proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ (Rom 1:16-17). Making disciples of all nations is also a command of the risen Christ to all of his followers (Matt 28:16-20). Furthermore, proclaiming the excellencies of God is a direct consequence of our calling as God’s people (1 Pet 2:9). Evangelism then cannot be seen as just one ministry among many. Instead we seek to shape everything we do in our preaching-teaching, corporate worship, discipleship and community to be engaged with the non-Christian world around us. We don’t just engage in missions, we are missional.
